Effective Date: March 10, 2014
Our primary goals in collecting information are to provide and improve our Services, to administer your use of the Services (including your Account, if you are an Account holder), and to enable you to enjoy and easily navigate our Services. We collect two types of information from visitors of our website: personally identifiable information (“PII”) and non-personally identifiable information (“non-PII”).
How we collect and use information
Personally Identifiable Information
If you choose to create an Account through one of your SNS Accounts, you may have to provide us with your username (or userID) so that your identity can be authenticated by the SNS Account. When the authentication is complete, we’ll be able to link your Account with the SNS Account and access certain PII, such as your name and email address, and other PII that your privacy settings on the SNS Account permit us to access. We don’t receive or store passwords for any of your SNS Accounts.
If you contact us by email through our Site, we may collect and store your contact information and correspondence. We may also collect and store the contact information you provide if you choose to “stay in the nose” by opting into our mailing list. We reserve the right to use your email address and any other personally identifiable information that you provide to us to respond to you and to send you marketing materials for our own products and services.
If at any time you would like to change your PII, no longer wish to receive communications from us, or would like your PII removed from our database, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, if you would like to change your PII, you can choose to “update subscription preferences” through the hyperlink shown in our email communications. Lastly, if you no longer wish to receive any communications or materials from us, you can choose to "unsubscribe” through the hyperlink shown in our email communications. We’ll take steps to delete your information as soon as is practicable, but some information may remain in archived/backup copies for our records or otherwise required by law.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information
Information Related to Use of the Services. Our servers automatically record certain information about how a person uses our Services (we refer to this information as “Log Data”), including both Account holders and non-Account holders (either, a “User”). Log Data may include information such as a User’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, operating system, the web page that a User was visiting before accessing our Services, the pages or features of our Services to which a User browsed and the time spent on those pages or features, search terms, the links on our Services that a User clicked on and other statistics. We use this information to administer the Services and we analyze (and may engage third parties to analyze) this information to improve and enhance the Services by expanding their features and functionality and tailoring them to our Users’ needs and preferences. We may use a person’s IP address to fight spam, malware and identity theft. We also use the IP Address to generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how our Services are used.
Location Information. In some cases, we collect and store information about where you are located, such as by converting your IP address into a rough geolocation. We may use location information to improve and personalize our Services for you.
Quiz and Other Related Data. If you take one of our fragrance quizzes, we may collect and store your responses to our quizzes, even if you do not elect to subsequently create an Account. If you do not create an Account, we will not be able to link such information to your PII and/or Account, since you have not provided such information to us.
Information we share with third parties
We will not share any PII that we have collected from you except as described below:
Information Shared with Our Employees and Service Providers. We reserve the right to provide such information to our employees, contractors, agents, and designees to the extent necessary to enable them to work with us to administer and provide the Services, including order fulfillment and website-related services such as web hosting, to improve website-related services and features, to perform maintenance services, and to distribute advertisements and other marketing materials on our behalf. These third-party services providers have access to your PII only for the purpose of performing services on our behalf and are expressly obligated not to disclose or use your PII for any other purpose.
Information Shared with Third Parties. We may share aggregated information and non-identifying information with third parties for industry analysis, demographic profiling and other similar purposes. We may also share information, including your PII, with third parties for their marketing and/or advertising purposes.
Information Disclosed for Our Protection and the Protection of Others. We also reserve the right to disclose any PII that we collect to third parties if we believe that we are required to do so for any or all of the following reasons: (i) to comply with the law; (ii) to comply with legal processes or governmental requests; (iii) to prevent, investigate, detect, or prosecute criminal offenses or attacks on the technical integrity of our website or our network; and/or (iv) to protect the rights, property, safety and security of Pinrose and its employees, our website visitors, and/or the public.
Information Disclosed in Connection with a Business Combination. If we sell all or any part of our business or sell or transfer all or a material part of our assets or are otherwise involved in a merger or other transfer or disposition of any part our business, we reserve the right to access, transfer or disclose any and all information that we collect from our website’s visitors, or that we otherwise collect in connection with the website, including PII, to the party or parties involved in the transaction as part of that transaction.
Information We Disclose With Your Consent or at Your Request. We will share your PII with third-party sites or platforms, such as social networking sites, if you have expressly requested that we do so.
We take reasonable measures to protect the information that we collect from or about you (including your PII) from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Unfortunately, no security system, or system of transmitting data over the Internet, can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Consequently, while we use reasonable efforts to protect your personally identifiable information, we cannot guarantee the security of our servers, the means by which information is transmitted between your computer and our servers, or any information provided to us or to any third party through or in connection with the website. Any information that you provide to us is done so entirely at your own risk.
Our Policy Toward Individuals Under 18 Years Old
Our Services are not directed to children under 18 years old and we do not knowingly collect PII from children under 13 years old. Subject to the “Accounts, Forms, Registrations and Passwords” section of the Term of Use and Conditions, if we learn that we have collected PII of a child under 13years old, we will take steps to delete such information from our files as soon as possible.
